Coaching Services: Group Coaching
It's been proven that having the support of peers when tackling a challenge and making a change like losing weight or managing stress can make a huge difference in your overall ability to reach success. 

What is Group Coaching? 

You join a supportive environment of like-minded people- who like you- have similar heatlh goals and understand what you are going through. You will meet twice a month and work with your group towards reaching your goals.

"I don't have to take my blood pressure medicine anymore because my numbers are so good". 

Charlie and Laurel came to me concerned about Charlie's diagnosis of High Blood Pressure and recent diagnosis of the beginning stages of chronic liver disease.  Laurel wanted help with what to cook for her husband and Charlie wanted to be shown how much food he could eat and what kinds were best for him. Help was given by showing what foods to eat, what to avoid, and how to build menus/meals around the right food choices.  This testamony is from Charlie after only 3 months in the program. 
I went to my doctor and he told me that he was real impressed with my bloodwork and that I didn't have to come back and see him for a year!
He also told me I could quit taking my Lipitor and blood pressure medicine because my numbers were so good!
I have good kidney function now so the diet worked really well, I'm going to stay on it.

Larry's goals were to exercise 3-4 times a week, lose weight, and improve health to eliminate blood pressure medicine.

"The most powerful part of the program for me were the regular meetings and the accountability, this is what I needed to make and stick to changes that make my life more fulfilling, and less controlled by my work." 
My top goals for my 6 month program were to vary my foods and add in healthier choices, to strengthen my body and reduce inclination to asthma, and to improve my work situation in order to reduce stress. 
My coach was able to help me by understanding the limits of my off-grid electricity-limited kitchen and lifestyle.  She showed me different vegetables in the grocery store and what to do with them.  Winona also shared with me fermenting recipes that I can use for food storage.  
Winona gave me exercises that I could do at home and she checked with me regularly to see how my exercises and breathing exercises were going.  
She talked with me about my career and helped me to pinpoint areas that I did and did not like - and she also encouraged me to see a financial planner to reach my financial goals. 
The biggest tangible changes I have noticed are:
I feel like the job that was weighing me down has less 'control' over my life and happiness  - I cut back on hours on the job that was creating stress, added in more time with friends, Qi Gong, a language class, and a fun and relaxing part time job at a local bookstore. 
I feel taller and stronger, especially in my thighs and core.  Every day now I am drinking lots more water, from about 10 ounces every 2 days to 40+ ounces a day.
I am adding new vegetables and items to my groceries, trying out new methods of cooking too! 
I now have new habits that I believe will be permanent and long term important parts of my life!  
I would recommned Winona to anyone that wants to learn about their physical and nutritional health, and how to improve them. I really learned a lot from the grocery store tour, how to cook vegetables that intimidate me, and what nutrients my body needs.
My focus for change during my program was to feel beter, lose weight and to learn what my body needed for health.  My coach was able to help me work toward these goals by not only giving me information, recipes, cookbooks, but also by her support.  Winona focuses on ot just food, but mind, body and soul, and that to me, was powerful!  We worked on all these areas and she taught me some de-stressing techniques, which I use everyday.

I came to Winona with an unknown illness that was destroying my life.  Within the 6 month program I learned so much from her, and was seeing results, I even got a new doctor and got diagnosed with a type of auto-immune disease.  With Winona and my doctors help I I was on more vitamins, less prescription drugs, and eventually replaced some of the vitamins with more vegetables.
